Graduation Day

I can’t believe it happened.  It should feel very weird leaving UF and all the friends I have made, but I guess it doesn’t really feel like I won’t be going back.  Maybe in September when some of my friends will be attending classes  it will sink in.

I have the sneaking suspicion that it will take longer.  I think that is the biggest adjustment I the real world will bring – everything will take longer.  After school, you don’t go from freshman runt to super senior in a measly 4 years.  Some people work a lifetime and never move out of an “entry level” role.  The amount of time it takes for change to happen increases.  Life slows down and time speeds up simultaneously – days fly by but each one is less remarkable and brings less “newness” with it.

I want to make sure I don’t fall victim to that creeping stagnation.  I don’t want to look back 10 years from now and see that I have accomplished nothing, wasted my time, or lost touch with the people I have come to love having in my life.  I think the following goals will help me do that.

  • Exercise Regularly
  • Eat Healthier
  • Learn New Things
  • Meet New People
  • Do New Things
  • Maintain Friendships

I am going to keep track of my efforts and progress here, if you catch my slacking, please call me on it.
